It would, except for the Stain Resistant treatment, which makes a significant difference. Most everyday spills (water, juice, light food) bead at the surface and can be blotted off before they have a chance to soak in. The treatment is particularly important on a warm light fabric where a water mark left to dry would leave a visible ring. For more substantial spills - red wine, coffee, sauce - immediate blotting still helps, but you may want to do a full 40°C wash sooner rather than later. The fabric handles repeated washing without losing its character.
