Description

Egg Shell is a pale ivory with a clear, warm cream undertone - the soft, polished tone of a fresh egg held to light. This Gridline Crossweave gives that ivory color a lightweight 122 GSM body and a visible grid pattern, creating an airy cotton-blend panel with quiet geometric structure that suits modern and transitional rooms.

The warm undertone in Egg Shell is gentler and more refined than a yellow cream - it sits closer to polished ivory than to butter. Under daylight, it reads as a clean, warm pale neutral; under warm evening lighting, it deepens elegantly into soft ivory without ever going stark or sallow. The grid pattern adds quiet visual rhythm without competing with the color.

At 122 GSM, this is the lightest cotton-rich option in the Crossweave family. Daylight comes through brightly with the grid pattern subtly visible against the filtered glow - the kind of light that feels airy and naturally bright rather than diffused or shaded. Daytime privacy is moderate and works well in non-street-facing rooms. For more privacy or for street-facing windows, pair behind a blockout.

Care for this design is dry clean only. The cotton-rich blend with the visible grid weave is not designed for home washing - structured patterns and natural-fiber content respond best to professional cleaning. Spot clean for everyday marks with a soft, damp cloth. Do not bleach. The Easy Clean treatment helps spills bead at the surface for immediate blotting. Near-zero shrinkage means panel dimensions stay accurate through professional cleaning cycles.

Egg Shell Gridline fits modern, transitional, and contemporary interiors that want lightweight, warm character with subtle pattern - kitchens with white cabinetry and warm-stone counters, breakfast nooks, living rooms with linen sofas and brass fittings, master bedrooms designed around soft warm palettes, sun rooms and reading corners. The lightweight 122 GSM also makes it well-suited as a daytime layer in front of a heavier blockout.

Each panel is custom made to your exact drop, panel width, and heading type. Egg Shell Gridline is the right choice when you want a lightweight, warm-ivory, subtly-patterned panel that brightens a room while adding quiet geometric structure.

The Crossweave - Gridline Range collection accommodates:

• Grommet (Eyelet), Tab Top, Rod Pocket, and Sleeve Top headings

• Custom panel widths from 130 cm to 300 cm

Fabric Information

The Gridline design is a 122 GSM cotton-rich crossweave - 34% cotton spun for natural softness and breathability, 11% polyester filament for smoothness and structure, and 55% polyester spun for body and stability. Woven at 122 GSM with a visible grid pattern, it sits as the lightest cotton-rich option in the Crossweave family - lighter and brighter than the Beaded (196 GSM), the Naturelle linen blend (220 GSM), and the Coir (305 GSM), heavier than the Square jacquard sheer (73 GSM). The result is a panel that filters daylight while keeping the room bright, with subtle geometric pattern adding quiet visual interest.

Care for the Gridline design is professional dry clean only. The visible grid weave is structured precisely during manufacturing, and home washing can distort the pattern alignment over time - dry cleaning preserves the geometric crispness. Spot clean for everyday marks with a soft damp cloth and clean water; the Easy Clean treatment helps spills bead at the surface for immediate blot before any absorption. Do not bleach. Do not iron over the grid pattern - low steam from a steamer is fine to release creases, but direct iron contact can flatten the textured grid. Near-zero shrinkage means dimensions stay accurate through professional cleaning cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Three warm-leaning options at the same lightweight grid weave. Egg Shell is the palest - a clear, warm ivory with a cream undertone. Natural is in the middle - a soft, warm flax-cream with subtle natural-fiber depth. Biscoff is the deepest - a warm caramel-tan that reads as a confident color rather than neutral. For pale warm rooms, choose Egg Shell. For a slightly richer warm neutral, Natural. For a deliberate warm color statement at the window, Biscoff.

The Gridline design has a structured grid pattern woven precisely into the fabric, and home washing - even on gentle cycles - can shift the grid alignment over time, causing the geometric pattern to drift or distort. Dry cleaning preserves the crispness of the grid for the lifetime of the panel. The Egg Shell colorway also benefits from dry cleaning, since pale ivory can pick up subtle yellowing in home wash systems with hard water or residual detergent.

Subtle but clearly present - visible in the hand and at close range, softer at room distance. The grid creates a quiet geometric rhythm across the panel rather than a bold pattern statement. Under daylight the grid lines catch slightly differently than the surrounding weave, giving the panel visual structure without dominating the room. Up close the pattern rewards inspection; at room distance it reads as textured pale warm color rather than as a patterned curtain.

Plenty - this is the lightest cotton-rich option in the Crossweave family at 122 GSM. Daylight comes through brightly with quiet diffusion; the room stays naturally bright and airy. Daytime privacy is moderate rather than strong - works well in non-street-facing windows where ambient privacy is sufficient. For street-facing rooms or for night privacy with interior lights on, layer Egg Shell Gridline as the daytime panel in front of a heavier blockout.

Some risk over very long sun exposure, but managed by the polyester-dominant blend (55% polyester spun + 11% polyester filament make up two-thirds of the fabric). The 34% cotton content does mean some potential for slow tonal shift under aggressive sustained UV, but typical indoor sun exposure does not produce visible yellowing within reasonable timescales. The professional dry cleaning also helps - it does not use the chlorinated detergents that cause most curtain yellowing.

Excellent for contemporary rooms - the subtle grid is a quiet geometric structure that suits modern aesthetics without committing to a bold patterned curtain. Pairs particularly well with warm-modern interiors that use natural materials, brass or warm metal fittings, and restrained palettes. In strictly cool-modern rooms with gray walls and brushed nickel, the warm Egg Shell tone reads as a deliberate warm note - which can be the intended look or not.

Not recommended - the manufacturer specification is dry clean only because home washing can distort the grid alignment over time, even on gentle cycles. The grid pattern is the defining visual feature of this design, and protecting it through professional cleaning is what keeps the panel looking original. For households unwilling to dry clean, choose a Crossweave option from the Beaded or Coir ranges instead, which are machine washable at 40°C.

It can work in kitchens with reasonable ventilation, but understand the care constraint - cooking splatter and grease on a dry-clean-only fabric requires immediate Easy Clean blotting at the surface and periodic professional cleaning rather than home washing. For a low-cooking-volume kitchen (mostly breakfast, light meals), Egg Shell Gridline works well. For a heavy-cooking kitchen, a machine-washable option from the Beaded or Coir ranges is more practical.

Depends on the room. For a non-street-facing kitchen, breakfast nook, or living room where daytime privacy is sufficient, no liner is needed. For master bedrooms, street-facing rooms, or any room where you need night privacy with interior lights on, pair Egg Shell Gridline as the daytime panel in front of a blockout curtain in a coordinating warm tone. The pale ivory layered in front of a deeper blockout actually creates a beautifully dimensional warm-on-warm window treatment.
