Window curtains are fabric panels made to dress a window, control its light, and pull a whole room together. They give a home its character. The catch with ready-made curtains? They're built to a standard size — one meant to fit every window and none exactly — so you're left adjusting, folding, or living with gaps at the edges.
Window curtains at ZIPCushions are made to measure, cut to fit yours exactly. Whatever the window — bay, arch, tall, wide, or oddly small — you choose the fabric, color, header, and length, and we cut to size. No rounding up to a standard that doesn't match your wall.
• Fit any window — bay, arch, picture, or tiny — made-to-measure panels match the opening instead of forcing a standard size.
• Your choice of everything — fabric, color, header style, and length are all up to you.
• Light and privacy your way — go sheer, room-darkening, or full blackout depending on the room.
• One workroom, whole home — match panels across rooms for a consistent look, all cut to their own sizes.
Ready-made curtains hang wrong in one of a few predictable ways: they stop short of the floor, they're too narrow to actually close, or two panels leave a gap down the middle that lets a stripe of streetlight through at night. The reason is always the same — they were cut for a standard window, not yours.
We start from your measurements instead. Tell us the width, the drop, and the header, and we cut each panel to hang full and close all the way — whether it's a wide slider that needs to stack clear of the glass or a narrow bath window where nothing off-the-shelf fits. Pick your fabric and color, order free swatches to see them in your own light, and let our custom curtain experts sort the measuring and the odd shapes. Sewn to order, trusted in 75,000+ homes.
How to measure your windows
Measure the width of your rod (or where it’ll go) and the drop from the rod to your chosen length. Mounting high and wide — above the frame and past the sides — makes windows look bigger and lets in more light when open.
Choosing a header style
Pinch pleat looks tailored and formal; grommet is clean and modern and slides easily; rod pocket is simple and casual. The header sets the whole personality of the panel.
Picking a length
Sill and apron lengths suit kitchens and baths; floor-length suits living spaces and bedrooms. Decide between just kissing the floor (crisp) or a slight puddle (soft) before you order.
Choose the fabric
Match the fabric to the room: choose sheer curtains for airy living spaces, choose room-darkening drapes for glare control, and blackout where you need real darkness, like bedrooms and media rooms.
