In a small or galley kitchen, a heavy curtain at 356 GSM takes up more physical space when stacked open — the fabric has more mass and volume, so the stack-back on each side of the window is wider than it would be for a lighter fabric. In a narrow kitchen, this can obscure a portion of the wall beside the window that might otherwise be used for storage, additional lighting, or an appliance. For very small windows in tight kitchens, a Roman blind, roller blind, or café curtain (covering only the lower half of the window) in the same colorway can provide the visual impact of Citron without the operational constraints of full-length panels. Full-length panels work best in kitchens with adequate floor space and where the window is in an open, unobstructed position.
